Transurban, the owners and operators of Eastern Distributor, contracted Studio Colin Polwarth to provide architectural input for a REF for the Free Flow Tolling System at Woolloomooloo, Sydney. The replacement of the toll gantries for both locations required extensive consultation with RMS centre for Urban Design over a year to ensure a high quality result was achieved for the Plazas A and B.

The existing redundant toll plazas were removed as a result of this major upgrade to the tolling infrastructure. New technological advances and the Kapsch-designed tolling system and gantry replaced the existing gantry, which included new night time camera and associated technology systems.
